FECA — Local discovery with social context
Founder & Fullstack Engineer · 2025 – Presente · In progress · Personal product

- Impact
- A real lab for turning local discovery into a more trustworthy and actionable experience.
- Proof
- Mobile app + custom backend + social/discovery modules + admin curation.
Overview
Portfolio project showing product judgment, mobile execution and backend ownership in a discovery app with social and editorial signals.
Problem
The problem was not only finding places, but deciding which one to go to in a context where information is scattered across Google Maps, Instagram, personal notes and WhatsApp messages. The opportunity was to reduce that friction with a more social, curated and trustworthy experience.
Solution
I designed FECA as a mobile-first experience to discover, save and evaluate places with social and editorial signals. The product integrates place exploration, reviews, profiles, saves, a social feed, plans, groups and admin curation so recommendations depend on context and trust, not just a map.
Process
- 1I worked end-to-end on the product: product direction, app architecture, backend modeling, mobile experience design, discovery and detail screens, and support for editorial curation and administration.
Results
A functional personal project in progress, useful as a product and architecture lab. It allowed me to validate a clearer wedge for local discovery and work on a complete stack of mobile app + API + custom backend.
My Role
Founder, product designer and fullstack engineer for the project.
Technical Architecture
Mobile frontend with Expo / React Native. Backend in NestJS with Prisma and PostgreSQL. Integrations for authentication, saves, reviews, social graph and admin curation.
